(919) 965-0068 - Node 2 - Intel 24EX - 1200 - 2400 Bps
Sex Trivia is for Mature Users Only!
OVERVIEW
________
This ZIP file was created using the -AV function of PKZIP. If
my AV is missing then this file may not be complete of has been
tampered with. Complete and current editions of this program
are always available for D/L on The Parole Board BBS. If the AV
is missing please complain to your sysop to stop the practice of
removing AV's as this is your assurance from the programmer that
the file is complete and virus free.
INSTALLATION
____________
Installation is fairly easy and straight-forward. The following steps and
examples should have you up and running in a very short period of time.
It is assumed that you are familiar with setting up DOORS on your system.
To this end, only examples of the configuration file and Door batch file
are described.
1) Create a directory to hold all SEX TRIVIA files and also create
a sub-dir above the SEX dir named \SCREENS. Place the files in
the SCREENS.ZIP archive into this directory. SEXTRV.EXE will
also create a directory named \USERS when it is run for the
first time. All .USR files will be placed into this dir. If
at any time you wish to lock a particular user out of Sex
Trivia, just take his .USR file and rename it to a .NO file.
EX: DENNISMA.USR -> DENNISMA.NO
This user will not be able to access Sex Trivia as long as the
.NO file in in the \USERS directory.
2) Unzip SEXTRVxx.ZIP into the above directory
NOTE: BRUN45.EXE is not included but is required !!!
3) Create a configuration file, with a name of your choice, or
modify the SEXTRV.CFG file that is enclosed.
A description follows:
C:\WILDCAT\CALLINFO.BBS ──┐ <- For Wildcat!
C:\WC30\USERINFO.DAT │ <- For Wildcat! 3.0
C:\PCB\PCBOARD.SYS │ <- For PCBoard using PCBOARD.SYS only
C:\PCB\USERS │ <- For PCBoard using USERS only
C:\BBS\DOOR.SYS │ <- For Systems that support DOOR.SYS
C:\BBS\DORINFOx.DEF │ <- For QBBS/RBB/RA. Replace x with Node #.
C:\BBS\SFDOORS.DAT │ <- For Spitfire
C:\BBS\CHAIN.TXT ───┘ <- For WWIV
The Parole Board BBS <- Your BBS Name
Dennis <- SysOp's First Name
Maidon <- SysOp's Last Name
C:\WC\BULL\BULL1.SCR <- Path and Name of Color Bulletin
C:\WC\BULL\BULL1.BBS <- Path and Name of ASCii Bulletin
125 <- Minimum security level allowed in door.
25 <- Minimum questions needed to be scored.
YES <- (Y/N) Create LOG file
00000 <- Registration Number
35 <- Max. questions allowed per visit to door
Y <- (Y/N) WC!3.x specific bulletins
Edit this .CFG file to suit your individual BBS. All 12 lines MUST
be present.
Line 1: This line points to where SEXTRV.EXE will find the callers
information file. Just include the line that your particular
BBS uses. DO NOT put all of them in the CFG file.
Line 2: Place the name of your BBS on this line.
Line 3: SysOp's first name goes here.
Line 4: SysOp's last name goes here.
Line 5: Enter the complete path and name of the ANSI bulletin that
you want SEX TRIVIA to create. This is also the line where
you will list the name of the bulletin to be created if you
select WC! bulls by placing a "Y" in Line 12.
Line 6: Enter the complete path and name of the ASCii bulletin that
you want SEX TRIVIA to create.
Line 7: The minimum security level that is allowed in the door.
Line 8: Minimum number of questions needed to be scored.
Line 9: YES to create .LOG log or leave blank
Line 10: Your Registration Number goes here if registered
Line 11: The maximum number of questions that the user is allowed per
visit to the door. There are only 200 questions so if you
want the users to be able to answer all of them at one time,
put 200 in this line.
Line 12: This line is the switch for the WC!3.x specific color codes.
When WC! color bulletins are selected, the user WILL NOT be
allowed to view the bulletin at the completion of the game.
He must return to the BBS and view the bulletin from the
WC! environment. You will need to use line 5 to put the
name of the bulletin that you want created. Be sure to give
it a ".BBS" extension so that WC! will pick it up properly
and display it. You may leave line 6 blank.
If you use the above CFG file be sure to remove all remarks and use
a pure ASCII editor such as EDLIN or QEDIT. Hidden control codes could
cause the program to depart for worlds unknown.
4) Create a batch file or modify the DOOR.BAT file supplied. A
description of this file follows:
ECHO OFF
CD \DOORS\SEX Location of SEX TRIVIA files
SEXTRV SEXTRV.CFG EXE filename and CFG filename
CD\WCAT
CAT.BAT
5) When running in more than one node, be sure to supply a
different configuration name for each node (your choice of name).
EX: SEXTRV1.CFG SEXTRV2.CFG
SEX TRIVIA has been tested under LIVECAT! and performs very well.
LIVECAT! USERS (WILDCAT!3.0 ONLY!!!!!!)
If you are using LIVECAT! to control your doors you will need to
make one small change in your door.bat file. LC! changes DOOR.SYS to
DOOR.ORG when it shells out to the door. You will need to add a line in
your script COPY DOOR.ORG DOOR.SYS. If you don't do this, ESP! just
gives up and dies a very unhappy death. I don't go back and delete it
when ESP! finishes and I haven't had any problems with it. If you do,
you might like to delete the DOOR.SYS just as soon as ESP! finishes
running.
NOTE: DoorFrame supports COM 1-4 on the standard IRQ's - COM1/COM3 = IRQ4 and
COM2/COM4 = IRQ3. If you wish to use a non-standard IRQ, add the IRQ
number after the configuration filename. Let's assume your Door is
called FOOBAR and you want to use COM1 and IRQ5. The command line
passed to your Door would be:
FOOBAR FOOBAR.CFG /5
The /5 tells DoorFrame to use IRQ5 rather than the standard IRQ4 that
is normally used with COM1. No /x parameter is needed for the standard
IRQ's.
Be sure to read all the READ.ME, README.1ST AND UPGRADE.DOC files
if they are included in the package. They sometimes contain some very
useful information. <G> Of course you can do like me, just set the darn
thing up without the docs then fuss at the door author for not making it
simple enough to work the first time.
When a user first log onto ' SEX TRIVIA' the program checks his
security level to make sure that he has a high enough level to enter the
door. it will then check the <user>.USR files to see if he has been
locked out of the door by the sysop. If the user passes both of these
tests then he may proceed in playing 'ST'. ST will then create a
<user>.USR file in the \USERS sub dir containing all the info about the
current user. This info will be used each time the user logs on to pick
up his ALIAS and other info. Keep a check on the dates of these .USR
files as they are re-written each time the user enters the door. This
way you can delete the older ones that are not playing any more. To
lock a user our of the 'ST' door just take his <user>.USR file and
rename it to <user>.NO. He will be kicked out before he has a chance
to play. ST will not write over this file.

not. It is only $10 to register this door.
Remember, should you have any problems, questions or suggestions, be sure
to drop me a message on either of the aforementioned BBS or via the
DOORS or SYSOP conference on RIME(tm), Node ID = PAROLE.
